Summer is in full swing and many of you are enjoying Summer to the fullest right on the water at the Lake of the Ozarks. If you are dock owner it is important to keep safety in mind when you are out having fun at your dock. Our team at One Source Services wants to ensure that everyone continues to have a FUN and SAFE Summer, so we have put together a list of safety tips for your dock. Consider these tips to keep you, your family, and friends safe at your dock!

Routinely Check Your Lift Cables

You should check your boat lift cables frequently to ensure that no wires are exposed. Exposed wires can be dangerous to anyone that is nearby. Make sure that you check for weak spots, and that they are clean. Dirt on your cables can cause your cables to become weak which means they could break and injure nearby swimmers or boaters.

If you suspect that you have an issue with boat lift, One Source Services offers 24/7 Emergency Services on boat lifts at the Lake of the Ozarks! Play it safe and give us a call if you suspect something is wrong.

Inspect Your Electrical Elements Regularly

Let's face it, water and electricity do not mix. That's why it's important to make sure that all of your electrical elements are in working order. Check for wire corrosion, your lighting is working, and there are no exposed wires. You should be checking these things yourself frequently. However, you should have a certified electrician inspect your dock at least once a year. They will be able to do a more thorough inspection and ensure that everything is up to code.

Ensure Your Dock is in Great Shape

Every year you should ensure that the integrity of your dock is in great shape. If you suspect that your dock needs some work done make sure to do so in order to keep everybody safe. Look to make sure that you don't have any broken dock pads. Broken dock pads can pose danger to those who walk on it.

Do you have dock pads that need to be replaced? Our precast company at the Lake of the Ozarks has dock pads in many sizes and designs. We can replace those broken dock pads for you to ensure everyone stays safe at your dock this Summers!
