Summer is in full swing and many of you are enjoying Summer to the fullest right on the water at the Lake of the Ozarks. If you are dock owner it is important to keep safety in mind when you are out having fun at your dock. Routinely Check Your Lift Cables 

You should check your boat lift cables frequently to ensure that no wires are exposed. Exposed wires can be dangerous to anyone that is nearby. Make sure that you check for weak spots, and that they are clean. Dirt on your cables can cause your cables to become weak which means they could break and injure nearby swimmers or boaters.

Inspect Your Electrical Elements Regularly 

Let's face it, water and electricity do not mix. That's why it's important to make sure that all of your electrical elements are in working order. Check for wire corrosion, your lighting is working, and there are no exposed wires. You should be checking these things yourself frequently. However, you should have a certified electrician inspect your dock at least once a year. They will be able to do a more thorough inspection and ensure that everything is up to code.

Ensure Your Dock is in Great Shape 

Every year you should ensure that the integrity of your dock is in great shape. If you suspect that your dock needs some work done make sure to do so in order to keep everybody safe.
